Method Statement

• Every translation task will be discussed with the client, and both the fee and the timetable for completing the work will be agreed in advance.
• Ideally we would hope to receive the work via e-mail as a Microsoft Word, Rich Text Format, Excel or PowerPoint file.
• INC uses only experienced translators, and every translation will follow closely the form, style and tone of the original.
• Any unfamiliar terms will be discussed with the client. INC has a wide-ranging collection of terms for different subject areas, and keeps in close contact with other translators in order to ensure consistency of terminology.
• If, for any reason, the work cannot be completed by the agreed deadline, the client will be contacted at the earliest possible opportunity. This is an exceptionally rare event.
• The translation will be checked according to the Quality Control system outlined below.
• The completed translation will be returned to the client in the agreed format with an invoice for the work.

Quality Control

INC has a very strict Quality Control system.

• The text is translated using Microsoft Office.
• The translator will proofread the completed work on the screen and correct any typographical errors by using CySill, the Welsh language spell-checker.
• The work will then be printed, and a second translator will proofread it a second time, sentence by sentence, against the original document.
• The original translator will read the work once again, and incorporate any changes into the final version before returning it to the client.

Occasionally, INC employs other professional and experienced free-lance translators. Their work will be scrutinised closely against the original document and will be proofread carefully in-house in order to ensure consistence of terminology and style before returning the work to the client.
